Soprano | Teaching Artist

Gemma Balinbin is a Seattle-based soprano, educator, and arts administrator whose work bridges performance, teaching, and community engagement. A versatile crossover artist, she specializes in opera, musical theatre, and jazz, and has appeared with Seattle Opera, The 5th Avenue Theatre Company, and the Seattle Symphony. She was also the featured teaching artist on the Emmy Award–winning television episode “Do, Re, Take Me to the Opera.” Beyond the stage, Gemma has served as Music Director for Seattle Opera’s Youth Opera Project and The 5th Avenue Theatre’s Educational Touring Company and teaches classes with Seattle Theatre Group at Kerry Hall. Passionate about arts education, she creates inclusive, joyful learning spaces that celebrate each student’s unique voice and story. She holds degrees from the University of Washington (MM, Vocal Performance) and Seattle University (BA, Music Emphasis). In addition to performing, Gemma currently serves as Engagement Manager at The 5th Avenue Theatre Company, where she develops community programs that foster creativity, accessibility, and connection through the arts.
